Tuition: $375.00 for 9 lessons Tuition includes all heavy body acrylic paint supplies, organic snack and water. Through step by step visual demonstration and verbal explanation, Chris Babcock instructs your child to produce two 15 by 24 inch paintings by Francesco Clemente and Yoshitomo Nara. All four paintings will be taught, so your child will be able to choose two out of the four paintings. Then your child will apply what he or she has learned in rendering a 15 by 24 inch self portrait similar to one of the Clemente or Nara paintings studied in class. Students will work from photos Chris takes of each student. Props from the paintings will be used in the self portrait photo: guitar, rock star glasses, drum sticks, Teddy bear, and flags. Students are encouraged to bring their props, too!

Through step by step instruction and constant visual demonstration, Chris shows your child how to draw and apply paint with a palette knife to create “French Bulldog” or “Ice Cream Treat”. Then for the final project, your child will draw and paint their personal favorite desert or companion dog breed. All three artworks will be produced with a palette knife and professional quality acrylics on archival paper.

By learning the step by step method via the right brain drawing technique and basic shading and highlighting techniques, your child will produce two 18 by 22 inch acrylic paintings on archival paper of their favorite two unlikely friendships from the five photos listed, then students will apply what they have learned in rendering their own 18 by 22 inch portrait of their favorite unlikely animal friendship they find on the internet. Your child will learn how to mix acrylic paints to achieve the highlighting and shading effects on their animal portraits.

By learning the step by step method of the grid drawing system and taking visual and verbal instruction, your child will learn how to mix paints to make different shades of green, yellows, and orange to produce two 18 by 22 inch acrylic paintings on archival paper of “Gold Fish Bowl” by Henri Matisse “Eiffel Tower” by Robert Delaunay, and then apply what he or she has learned in rendering their own 18 by 22 inch painting of their favorite fish in a bowl Matisse style while incorporating the Eiffel Tower creatively in the design of the painting.
