(ages 5.5 to 12)
When art campers arrive, they work on warming up their right brains by creating Sharpie drawings in their sketch pads, then Chris Babcock gives them step by step instruction and constant visual demonstration using a simple and easy to understand grid system to draw and paint three artworks by modern and contemporary masters: one animal, one still life and one figure painting.
The students use only professional grade acrylics on archival papers. By the end of the 5 day camp, each child produces 3 glossed 15 by 20 inch acrylic paintings on archival paper (this size fits ready made frames.)
IMPORTANT NOTE:Every summer, art campers produce paintings never studied before, so there will be no repeat paintings for campers coming back for their second, third or fourth art camp.
