Spring 2018 After School: Learn How to Draw and Paint Any Image that Inspires You
Tuition: $475.00 includes:
~eight 2 hours lessons
~1 make up day at the end of the 8 weeks if you miss a week during your Spring Break.
~All the finest professional grade paints, top quality brushes and thick cotton canvas aprons.
~3 to 1 student to teacher ratio
AGE GROUP: Kindergarten through 8th grade (No preschoolers)
Each student chooses and learns how to use any of the following mediums to paint two to three images of his or her choice: liquid transparent acrylics, opaque heavy body acrylics and water-soluble oils
IMPORTANT: Please have your child change into old or stained clothes as even though students wear aprons, paint tends to find its way on clothing and acrylic and oil paint is permanent unless treated before it dries.
Course Description: 4 to 1 student/teacher ratio. Through visual and verbal consultation, the head teacher instruct students on how to produce two or three 15 by 24-inch paintings of any masterpiece, portrait, photo or cartoon in the world of their own choosing. Students develop basic highlighting and shading skills and techniques through being taught the way to hold and put pressure on a brush or pencil to make a variety of line qualities and mixing and applying various hues of what every medium each artist chooses to learn how to use: liquid or heavy body acrylic or water soluble oil paints
DRAWING OPTIONS FOR STUDENTS: students (ages 6 through 12) can learn how to create the drawing they want to paint or just learn how to draw by using the grid method taught by Chris Babcock and her team of teachers. Drawing is optional and painting is optional. Each student decides what they want to learn. If a student choses not to learn how to draw, the painting is drawn for them in advance of the class.
Limit: 12 students
Teacher/student ratio: 4 to 1

The make-up class can be on the same week as your scheduled class. You can make up to two missed classes. Classes must be made up within the time frame of the 8 week course.
How the choosing of the 2 paintings works: All students will email Chris Babcock the two images of their choosing 1 week prior to the first day of class. Send to email@example.com
What if your child does not know what he or she wants to paint? Please email Chris and she will email some images for your child to choose from.
What if your child chooses something very complex like the Mona Lisa? All works of art are studied so that your child can develop his or her own painting skills and personal style. Every work of art has something to teach us, so any artwork, no matter how complex, will help develop your child’s artistic skills. It is not the goal of the student to reproduce the painting, exactly in the same way, but to use the image as a jumping off point to further develop his or her technical and creative skills.
Please note: Unless this class is canceled, there are no refunds for this class. If your child is not able to attend, Chris Babcock Art does offer a credit for the unused portion of your child's tuition to be put towards any future art lessons.
