Class description: Chris Babcock and her team of instructors teach each student how to paint two 15 by 20-inch paintings: the first is a favorite animal or pet, and the 2nd is a self- portrait or a portrait of any loved one.
Students are taught using a step by step visual and verbal explanation. Each animal can be a favorite pet or any favorite animal- wild or domesticated. The portrait can be a portrait of the self or of anyone.
A parent will help their child pick out one human picture and 1 animal picture that are well lit and detailed, and then email Chris both photos at least 1 week before the class. Chris will draw both images prior to class. Chris and her Instructors will show how to use layers (a new layer each week) of paint to build up a realistic picture of the their human and animal portrait.
Each student learns how to mix a subtle range of acrylic or oil hues to depict a detailed and nuanced painting. All students will complete two 15 by 20-inch paintings by the end of the 8-week session.
